Teaching for students of human medicine

Important information on the courses offered by Human Genetics Cologne

Lecture

The lectures take place in the LFI lecture hall 3. All lectures start c.t.

Shortly after each lecture, the respective lecture content will be uploaded to ILIAS.

The lecturers do not wish to upload before the actual lectures in order to make the lectures as interactive as possible.

Seminars

The seminars are held in the form of small group lessons in the lecture halls of the LFI building and start c.t. (e.g. start at 11.15 a.m.). Exercise materials must be provided on the day of the seminar (for Molecular Genetics I + II).

Regular participation in the seminars is a prerequisite for registering for the exam. One absence is permitted. The documents will be made available on ILIAS shortly before the start of the seminar phase.

The participants of the seminars are divided into groups, swapping is only possible in exceptional cases after consultation with the teaching coordinators.

Written exam

The written exam usually takes place in the last week of the semester.

The exact day of the exam and the group assignments will be announced in advance. If you pass the exam, you automatically fulfill the requirements for the subject "Human Genetics" (including participation in the seminars) - without this being explicitly listed in KLIPS.

There is no retake exam! If you fail the exam, you can retake it in the next semester without having to attend the courses again.

All dates and venues for our courses are available for students of human medicine in KLIPS (klips2.uni-koeln.de/).
