The goal of the Research Track at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cologne is to facilitate the transition from undergraduate studies to a doctoral program for students seeking to earn a PhD. The aim of the Research Track is to attract and inspire students for research. In the Research Track lecture series various working groups and departments present their current research topics; the aim is to provide students beyond their second semester who are interested in research with an overview of current basic and clinical research taking place at the University of Cologne and at other research institutions. Students select a working group of their choice and experimental laboratory practical sessions allow for an early start into scientific work, giving them their first practical contact with biomedical and clinical-oriented research. In addition, there are expansions for select competence areas. Employees at our Institute are actively involved in the lecture series as lecturers.
