Human genetics is the science of genetically-based variation in humans. It is an interdisciplinary subject that serves as a bridge between medicine and biology and deals with the genetic basis of diseases. This has ramifications for therapy, prognosis and prevention in a wide range of clinical applications. The Institute represents the field of human genetics in terms of patient care, research and teaching.
